Flour Focaccia
This recipe yields a Focaccia bread with a dense, super soft crumb. |
I have made yeasted bread only a handful of times. EVERY time I do it is ten times better than store bought. And really, it only requires a small amount of extra effort. This bread is incredibly soft and moist and has a crunchy crust and goes with everything and ... You get the idea. My absolute favorite part of this bread is the cornmeal bottom. Scrumptious.
Baked Banana Espresso Chocolate Chip Muffins
Sooo Easy to Make and Stays Moist for Days |
I wanted to bring something to my son's teacher today, but forgot until about an hour beforehand:( As luck would have it I had some ripe bananas in my bread box and a super easy peasy recipe from Baked: New Frontiers in Baking for muffins. It was fate I tell ya, fate.
Waffles of Insane Excellence
I love making these for my son before school. |
I am pretty much a mess in every aspect of my life. My house is often times a mess, my car is a disaster of epic proportions, and I am easily the least organized person I know. But....But! I have got the lockdown on shopping for kitchen equipment. So when my mother-in-law asked me what I wanted for Christmas
and I told her I wanted a waffle maker, well, needless to say, I got a little nervous. Joanne Chang's Applewood Smoked BLT
A Grown-Ups BLT |
I love BLTs. Every Friday, if my son has been good at school, we go for his favorite Friday lunch...Steak n' Shake. He loves it. Not being one for fast food I always order the BLT. Pretty straightforward not a lot of room for error. And it is always...okay. So when my husband got me Joanne Chang's new cookbook, Flour, Too, I was immediately smitten. I looked through it about five times before I noticed the BLT. Go figure. This is a grown-ups BLT.
